Arthur Bookman, MD, FRCPC

Program Director, Division of Rheumatology and Associate Professor, University of Toronto, Canada

Arthur Bookman is the Program Director, Division of Rheumatology, and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is also Coordinator, Multidisciplinary Sjogren’s Clinic at University of Toronto University Health Network, Senior Staff at University Health Network/Toronto Western Hospital as well as a Consultant at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Dr. Bookman’s contributions to the field has resulted in numerous distinctions and research awards, including the ‘Distinguished Rheumatologist Award’ in 2007 from the Canadian Rheumatology Association, a national recognition by peers for sustained outstanding contributions to the field of Rheumatology in Canada; as well as an Award of Distinction from The Arthritis Society of Canada. Dr. Bookman is Co-Chair of the Abstract Committee for Sjogren’s Syndrome, American College of Rheumatology, Boston, Massachusetts, United States, as well as Co-Chair of the Medical Advisory Board, Ontario, at the Sjogren’s Society of Canada since 2007. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Bookman’s professional affiliations are numerous, with notable positions including President of the Canadian Rheumatology Association from 2002-2004, and Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee of The Arthritis Society of Canada from 2002-2007.  He was also appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Canadian Rheumatology Association from 1994-2000.
